For Whom the Bell Tolls

For Whom the Bell Tolls

Ernest Hemingway

In the novel For Whom the Bell Tolls takes place in the Spanish revolution during 1936 when the main character Jordan Robert came from the US to fight against the fascist for the republic in Spain. Thorough his journey he has met Pablo the general in the guerrillas camps where he is staying. Right now in the book Pablo is being getting suspicious because it looks like hes getting scared of the Fascism now. He has also met Golz a general commander who has ordered Robert Jordan to blow up a bridge. Maria the girl who Robert Jordan fell in love with who was taken by the fascist, and got toured and raped when they put her in prison. However she escaped.
A possible question I might do for my research paper is

What was the impact in Spain after the Spanish revolution after?

Hi Karen,
What changes in Spain does Hemingway show? If none, you may want to consider changing the question. How are the characters representations of the time period? What were the goals of the rebels? How is the government depicted in their reaction to revolts?
